Terms of Use

Last updated: July 10, 2026

Welcome to Callaloo — one pot, many flags. These terms are the agreement between you and Callaloo when you use our app or website (callaloo.app). We've written them in plain English because we want you to actually read them. If anything is unclear, email us at support@callaloo.app.

1. Accepting these terms, and who can join

By creating an account or using Callaloo, you agree to these terms. To use Callaloo you must:

Callaloo is currently launching city by city in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada.

2. Your profile and your content

Your photos, bio, prompt answers, anthem pick, heritage flags — all of it is yours. You own your content.

So we can run the app, you grant Callaloo a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and moderate your content — solely to operate the service. That means showing your profile to other members, storing your photos, and running safety checks. We don't use your content for advertising, and we don't sell it to anyone.

This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we need to keep specific records for safety reasons or because the law requires it (for example, records tied to a safety report).

You're responsible for what you post. Only share content you have the right to share, and never post someone else's private information.

3. Community rules

Callaloo is built on respect — for each other and for the whole Caribbean family. When you use the app, you agree to:

We may remove content or suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

4. Safety

Safety features are free for everyone, always. You can block and report any member at no cost, use the Safety Center (app lock, discreet icon, and support resources), and hide your distance for free from your profile. Selfie verification is rolling out. Reports are reviewed by automated systems and by people.

Please know this clearly: we do not run criminal background checks on members. Use good judgment — meet in public places, tell someone where you're going, and never send money to someone you haven't met. If someone makes you uncomfortable, block and report them; it takes seconds and it's always free.

We may remove content or accounts that violate these terms or put others at risk.

5. Subscriptions and purchases

Callaloo offers optional paid subscriptions, billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play:

Here's how billing works, with no surprises:

We'll always give you honest, one-tap guidance to the store's cancellation page — no retention traps, no guilt screens.

6. Roses, Boosts, and other virtual items

You can buy consumable virtual items like Roses and Boosts. These items:

7. What's always free

This is a promise, not a teaser: matching, messaging with your matches, basic filters, and every safety feature are free for everyone. Paid tiers add convenience and amplification — things like see-who-likes-you, advanced filters, unlimited likes, Boosts, Roses, and travel mode. Hiding your distance is free for everyone, because your safety is never behind a paywall.

8. Ending your account

You can leave anytime. Delete your account in Settings — no phone calls, no hoops. There's a 30-day grace period in case you change your mind; after that, your data is permanently erased, including your photos. You can cancel the deletion anytime during the grace period, or pause your profile instead if you just need a break.

We can end accounts too. If you violate these terms — especially the community rules — we may suspend or permanently close your account, and we may decline to offer you a new one.

Remember: deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings.

9. Disclaimers and limits on our liability

We work hard to make Callaloo safe and reliable, but we have to be honest about what we can and can't promise:

Some places don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits rights that your local law says can't be limited.

10. Governing law and resolving disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you have a problem with Callaloo, talk to us first — email support@callaloo.app and we'll make a genuine effort to sort it out. Most issues can be resolved with a conversation. If we can't resolve it informally, either of us may pursue the remedies available under applicable law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Callaloo grows or as the law changes. If we make a meaningful change, we'll notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and we'll update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using Callaloo after a change takes effect, that means you accept the updated terms. If you don't agree, you can delete your account in Settings.

12. Contact us

Questions about these terms or anything else? We're a small team and we read every message.

Thanks for being part of the pot. Designed for the date, not the dwell.
